Old Finnish people with things on their heads. That is all.
(OK, I lied, that is not all. These are part of a funny, gorgeous photo series by Karoline Hjorth and Riitta Ikonen called Eyes As Big As Plates, and you should look at as much of it as you possibly can.)
(Also: hat tip, so to speak, to Mr. Benjamin Birdsall.)
Beautiful day trip an hour down the coast to the whitest sand in the world
Last night was radical, and today will be even more radical because I get to spend all of it with this one
Long Exposures of Sex
This is so beautiful.

Fucking intense man. Had me half way between hypnotised and a seizure
Grains Of Sand by Calvin Seibert
Calvin Seibert (aka box builder on Flickr) goes hand in hand with sand, water and maybe some basic tools to build sand “castles”.
Walked my first 50ft+ line today. Even more stoked on the fact I rigged it on my own with only 70ft of line and a 4:1 primative set up, resulting in a far from tight line.
Anyone and everyone who’s adventured across China on a train will know that it’s not just about getting from point A to point B; it’s about the journey itself and the people you meet along the way. Wang Fuchun took this to the next level ever since the 1970’s.- http://bit.ly/17Q6eas
Bed views the last 2 mornings.
Fuck this shit.
The current age in Australia for eligability to an aged pension is 65. This is already going to rise to 67 by 2017. A new plan will see this to continue to rise to 70 by 2025 after which it may even continue to go up indefinitely according to life expectancy.
Even worse, access to superannuation, our own hard earnt money, is currently progressing from 55 to 60 by 2024. This is also proposed to be lifted to age 70 by 2035.
Taking my father as an example, a man who hasn’t had a holiday since I was in primary school, who has worked six days a week for my entire memory. He will not be able to willingly retire until he has worked for 54 years of his life. After which he can ‘enjoy’ (not even going to go into the struggle of a pensioner) the final 10-15 years if its expentancy.
What the fuck kind of society (yes I know we are still leagues ahead of others) practically forces its members into a life dominated by work, meerly capped with a teaser of freedom at each end?
I can not imagine my mother still being capable of controlling a class full of eight year olds at the age my grandmother is now. How can a labourer who hasn’t recieved any education since tenth grade be expected to dig holes and carry bricks until they are 70?
I constantly have career and lifestyle doubts and if these changes go through they sure as hell won’t help them.
He’s serious about creme brûlée
